Summer Adventures and Entertainment

The days are longer, the sun shines brightly, and the outdoors is beckoning you to take advantage of all the adventures that await. Here in the Pacific Northwest, there is so much beauty that surrounds us, and there is no shortage of opportunities to take in nature, whether on land or water. We’re certain our feature article will help spark your next outdoor adventure.

In this issue, be inspired by a wonderful nonprofit organization in Pierce County—Raising Girls—that is serving our students and helping them to gain the confidence every child needs, providing essential hygiene products to 86 schools here in the 253. In our Q&A, you'll meet Shannon Harnish-Cook of Harnish Auto Family, as she shares the wonderful work their team is doing to give back to the community. We also take a look into the Gig Harbor Golf Club and their focus on community, comradery … and golf!

Summer brings with it some wonderful events. Brew Five Three, SummerFEST, Mardi Gras Long Table Dinner & Auction and Couture and Cars all are happening in July, and come August, there's the Proctor Arts Fest, Galloping Gertie, and Asia Pacific Cultural Center's Polynesian Luau.

There’s no time like the present to seize the day and make the most of each and every moment and opportunity. Get outside, explore the 253, attend an event. You’ll be glad you did.
